Maria Elena Cannazza began her practice in structured finance from the inception of her career at the beginning of 2000 and over the years she developed a strong specialization, both in Milan and London with leading domestic and international firms (such as Bonelli Erede, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Giovanardi e Associati), in securitizations practicing and banking and financial services regulation. Her cross-border expertise in securitization was further strengthened by an internship that she had in 2006-2007 with the structured finance desk of Credit Suisse, London offices. In her professional course, she has assisted arrangers, originators, servicing companies, investors and rating agencies in securitization transactions on a variety of asset classes, including NPLs, RMBS, leasing and consumer credit receivables.
She has also developed considerable experience in restructuring with a leading edge practice in Italian insolvency and restructuring after joining Lombardi Molinari e Associati (now Lombardi Segni e Associati), advising leading national and international banks, as well as major Italian companies on a number of restructuring plans, debt restructuring agreements, and composition with creditors procedures.
She has also worked on the structuring of innovative deals characterized by the use of securitization as implementing tool of debt restructuring transactions.
As of June 2017 she is a partner of Lombardi Segni e Associati in the practice areas of Banking&Finance and Restructuring.
